I don't think so. Unless you spend more time aware from desktop or laptop there is no need for the phone to buy. I am going to work on this because i prefer desktop or laptop more.

Ir really depends on your Useage. If you use internet daily for business, then you need to have the best phone.

I think it is not that necessary to have the expensive phones but people changes as per the technology development. The technology is well developed so that we have got the smart phones with android which gives a wide scope to install many user friendly applications and the games too.

I don' think so, because a most people use expensive phones only to attract other people. We better should check what functions we really need.
