Thankfully, Sony has included a rechargeable 1800 mAh Lithium Ion battery to help out—normal alkaline batteries wouldn’t survive the load for long and would be darn expensive to replace all the time. On a full charge, you will get (and independent organizations have confirmed this) up to six hours of battery life when playing video games, and up to four hours for movies. This is assuming you’re running the screen at half intensity and half volume with wireless off. I tend to run with the brightness and volume all the way up, so take about 10 percent off that figure if you play the same way.

i think the most imoptant to keep you battery longer is to decrease or turn off sound , intensity.

Also psp battery last the shortest comparing at other game boy devices but it is much better and much better games are at psp.

When im playing im also turn off the sounds. because when im using the my psp w/ sounds it only takes 2-3hours only. when i off the sounds it takes 4-6 hours,.

I will depends on your usage and PSP battery charging history. According to me, usually a rechargeable battery will last 3 5 years with normal usage.
